How to Make Tamales: A Hands-On Class Celebrating Tradition & Technique 10/22/26

Thursday October 22 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

More than a recipe, tamales are a celebration—of family, community, and the time-honored techniques passed down through generations. Join us for a fun, hands-on tamale-making class where we roll up our sleeves, share stories, and learn a tradition. Tamales aren’t just food—they’re an experience. From soft, fragrant masa to slow-simmered fillings and the soothing rhythm of wrapping each one by hand, you’ll get a true feel for the craft that goes into this beloved dish.

In this class, we’ll walk you through every step: mixing masa to the right texture, preparing classic fillings, spreading and wrapping with confidence, and steaming everything to fluffy perfection. Along the way, we’ll talk about the cultural roots of tamales and why making them is such a special ritual in so many households—especially during for family gatherings.

Whether you grew up with tamales or are discovering them for the first time, you’ll leave with new skills, a deeper appreciation for the tradition, and a set of delicious tamales you made yourself. Come ready to cook, learn, and enjoy the kind of food that brings people together.

For this class, 1 ticket is for 1 person. Our Hands-On Kitchen is designed for two people per station. If you come on your own, you may be partnered with another guest in the class. If you’d prefer to be at your own station, we may be able to accommodate this, please note your preference during the checkout process. Also note if you prefer the vegetarian option during checkout.
