Science and the Grape: Pinot Noir
Saturday June 14, 2025 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
What’s the most challenging and also most rewarding grape to work with? Pinot Noir!
Known as the heartbreak grape, Pinot Noir has a reputation for being temperamental on the vine and in the vineyard. As one of the most ancient varieties of wine grapes, older than Cabernet Sauvignon or Sauvignon Blanc, it is the parent of many of our favorite wines. And, did you know the wine made from it isn’t always red?
Join the Intoxicating Professor: Heather McKechney, NYK Beverage University Instructor and chemistry professor, as we take a scientific look at why wines coming from the Pinot Noir grape can be so diverse and experience five of them to see why they are so enjoyable.
Menu
Enjoy a flight of 5 Pinot Noirs alongside a Nosh Box from Chef Pamela Cecere.
